About
As a National Geographic Explorer she has committed her early career to sharing stories from Romania’s post-socialist landscapes, focusing on themes of resistance, memory, and nature.
Audrey completed her MA at the University of Victoria in Environmental Studies where her research in political ecology explored the landscape of Indigenous conservation finance in Canada.
In 2026, she will begin her PhD in Environmental History at University College London, supported by the Arts and Humanities Research Council Doctoral Landscape Award. Her research will continue to examine Eastern European environmental histories across the communist and post-communist periods.
She is also part of the 2026 Granta Writers' Workshop.
